Read-a-thon 2021! (1)

This year’s Read-A-Thon will run from February 3rd through February 10th and will be entirely virtual. Woodfield’s Read-A-Thon builds a love of reading with our students and raises money without your child having to sell anything. The best part of the Read-A-Thon is that 100% of the money raised will stay at Woodfield Elementary School and directly benefit our kids to fund family fun nights, assemblies, staff appreciation, grandparents day, pastries with parents (once we're back to “normal”), the science fair, enhancements to the curriculum and much, much more!! And there’s nothing to buy; just family and friends encouraging our kids to read! 

What We Need From You:  

Help your child set his/her reading goals and ask people to sponsor them. 

• Reading goals should be realistic – e.g., 20 to 30 minutes per day, depending on their grade 
• Sponsors can pledge to pay an amount per minute that your child reads or is read to OR pledge to pay a set amount once your child has reached his/her goal.  

Help your child track the minutes they read each day from Wednesday, February 3rd through Wednesday February 10th using the Minutes Recording Sheet. 

• If your child reads over an hour and has difficulty figuring out what that is in minutes, you can put it in hours, but please put an “H” next to it so you can total it more easily at the end.  

At the end of the Read-A-Thon, tally the minutes read and enter the totals on the online form linked below by Tuesday, February 16th so that your child will be eligible for more prizes!! 

Submit all funds through credit card or Paypal through this link OR via Venmo @Woodfield-Elementary by Tuesday, February 16th, entering the student's name in the comments so that your child will be properly credited and eligible for more prizes!! Thank you so very much for your support!
